WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) State Road 101 is back open at Gar Creek Road near Woodburn after a semi jack-knifed Tuesday morning.
Around 6:15 a.m., Indiana State Police told NewsChannel 15 the driver was traveling north on S.R. 101 when he made a slight movement after spotting what could have been a deer. The truck dropped off the soft shoulder and the driver lost control, causing the truck to jack-knife.
The truck dropped 3,000-pound bags of Turkish Sand, used for furnaces. Crews took about three hours to clean up the mess, which totaled about 45,000-pounds once finished.
The driver was not injured in the wreck.
A tow truck operator on the scene told NewsChannel 15 there was a similar accident involving a truck hauling sand in the same spot two or three years ago.
The road was opened shortly after 9 a.m.
