NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- A 20-year-old Fort Wayne man was hospitalized Monday morning after a head-on crash in Noble County.

According to Indiana State Trooper Justin Snyder, Austin Erler was driving south on U.S. 33, around 8:40 a.m. near County Road 50 West in southern Noble County.  Erler’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit a van driven by Robert Morse, 42, from Fort Wayne.

Police believe Erler fell asleep just before the crash.  Erler was taken to Parkview Hospital with a fractured right leg.  Morse was not injured.

Erler was cited for driving left of center.
