FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Dozens gathered in protest Friday in front of the federal building and courthouse on S. Harrison St. in downtown Fort Wayne.
The demonstrators carried signs indicating their displeasure with local legislators who they feel are not representing their views on recent health care reform legislation.
Protestors of the health care legislation moving through Congress chanted, "Kill the bill!" while standing along Harrison St.
The rally included individuals, as well as members of the politically conservative group, the 9/12 Project. That project started as an effort to bring US citizens together as they were on the day after the Sept. 11 tragedies in 2001.
"Our representatives have forgotten who they work for," said Chris McCalley, an organizer of the protest. "They are working for their party, they are working for the Left, instead of answering to the people."
The House of Representatives was supposed to vote on so-called "sweeping" health care reform legislation Friday, but the vote has been delayed until Saturday.
