ASHLEY, Ind. (WANE)  Police in DeKalb County arrested a 27-year-old man after he admitted to trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex in a park.

According to our partners at KPC News, Randall Reynolds II was taken into custody at his workplace Wednesday. He faces a felony charge of child solicitation.

Court documents show that a DeKalb County detective had permission to use the Facebook account of a 14-year-old girl as he investigated an unrelated matter. While that detective was logged on, the girl received an instant message from Reynolds.

Police said Reynolds asked for sexually explicit nude pictures of the teenager and during the online conversation said he would meet her at Eckhart Park in Auburn for sex.

According to court documents, when Reynolds got to the park, the detective met him and took him in for questioning. Reynolds admitted to police that he was at the park to have sex with the girl and that he knew how old she was.

He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon on an unrelated charge of battery causing bodily injury and criminal mischief. Those charges stem from an incident that took place June 27.
