FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police found 243 pounds of marijuana inside a delivery truck on Tuesday. Four people were arrested as the result of what was a week long investigation.
Police got word that some men were going to rent a box truck to pick up a shipment of illegal drugs. The drugs were then to be transported to another location in Fort Wayne.
They observed the truck, driven by 42-year-old Reynaldo Moctezuma of New York, as it went to a local ground delivery business where a pallet was placed inside.
The truck left the business at which time Moctezuma left the truck and got into a car and another person took over driving the truck.
Police pulled over both vehicles on Adams Center Road and that's when they discovered the 243 pounds of marijuana packed in boxes.
As part of their surveillance of the delivery truck, police zoned in on a home located at 508 Plainfield. A search warrant was obtained and police searched the home. Inside they found $794.00, four handguns, five computers, several discarded cell phones and paraphernalia.
Besides Moctezuma, police also arrested 24-year-old Arturo Marcias of Fort Wayne, 28-year-old Jorge Salazar (address not known), and 27-year-old Ivan Alonso Campa-Villa of Fort Wayne.
All four men face various charges.
