FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A pedestrian who was hit by a semi off of West Coliseum Boulevard Monday night has been upgraded to stable condition.

Police said around 8:10 p.m. a semi with a dual trailer turned eastbound onto the frontage access road along the 2500 block of West Coliseum Blvd. The driver didn't see a pedestrian along the side of the road. The pedestrian was struck and run over by the semi. At the time, the semi was traveling at a low speed. Medics took the 27-year-old man to a hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to critical but stable condition.

At the time of the accident, the National Weather Service listed the visibility at less than a quarter of a mile with drizzle in the greater Fort Wayne area. These factors likely played a factor in this crash. The victim was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing.
