HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - The Huntington Police Department said William Hall, 34, of Andrews, Indiana died when his van hit an ABF trailer on Friday evening.

Police said Hall was driving eastbound on US 24 approaching Jefferson Street when he ran into the back end of an ABF tractor-trailer rig, which was starting to move after the traffic light had turned green. Hall's van came to rest underneath the right side of the trailer.

Hall's 13-year-old son was extricated from the front passenger seat of the van by firefighters and taken to Parkview Huntington Hospital in good condition.

Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer rig was not injured in the accident.

Weather was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
