WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP/WANE) - Hoosiers will be among millions around the country who won't get a tax hike in January.
Late Thursday night, the House easily passed legislation to extend Bush-era tax cuts for two-years, and allow benefits to continue for the long-tern unemployed.
It was a long day for House lawmakers. Liberal Democrats stalled debate Thursday morning, insisting the House also vote on imposing a higher estate tax.
It eventually led to the scheduling of two separate votes and the estate tax portion was left unchanged.
The tax cut deal is now on its way to President Obama's desk.
