FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE:

NewsChannel 15 was the first to report the Fort Wayne Fire Department's preliminary findings in the January 23 fatal Willows of Coventry fire that killed three women.

Investigators report the fire was electrical in nature, caused by high-resistance heating at or near an electrical outlet.  Officials also determined the outlet was on the front exterior wall of the lower apartment.  They do not know if anything was plugged into that outlet.

More testing is being done to the outlet in question.  Officials say that testing will verify their findings. There is no word on when that testing will be done.

As first reported on NewsChannel 15's Nightcast, Assistant Fire Chief Amy Biggs said the gasoline found at the scene was from the chain saws and generators used by firefighters.

Officials said they have not found anything that suggests the fire was suspicious in nature.
