WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate's top Republican says the U.S. has the best health
care in the world and the system doesn't need to be scrapped.
Sen. Mitch McConnell says the Democrats' approach ignores
what's right with the U.S. system. He says cost and access are
challenges, but not enough to justify a complete overhaul.
The Kentucky Republican says the system isn't the most
efficient way to provide care for millions of Americans. He says
President Barack Obama's plan would be the same as government
takeover -- and that would lead to worse care.
McConnell appeared Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."
