WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will meet with two top Republican lawmakers Tuesday to discuss overhauling the nation's immigration laws.

A White House official says Obama will sit down with Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham. The lawmakers are members of a larger bipartisan Senate group working on a plan to overhaul the nation's broken immigration system.

The White House wouldn't say why Obama is not meeting with the other members of the group, including Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. Obama previously met with the four Democrats on the immigration panel.

McCain and Graham have been sharply at odds with Obama over his nominee to lead the Pentagon, Chuck Hagel. The Senate will vote Tuesday on whether to move ahead on the nomination.
