Indiana man killed in fiery crash

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A Granger, Indiana man died Monday morning in Kosciusko County after the minivan he was driving collided with a semi. The minivan burst into flames and witnesses were unable to rescue him.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Joseph Youngbok Jo, 60, of Granger, Indiana was sounthbound on CR 800 West when he pulled into the path of a semi going westbound on U.S. 30 at 8:40 a.m.

Jo's minivan was struck in the driver's side door by the semi before it got caught on the rear part of the semi-trailer.  The minivan then caught fire.

Witnesses, including an ATF agent, fought back the flames to pull Jo from the minivan, but they were unable to save him.  Jo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi suffered a minor hand injury.

While the accident is still under investigation, witnesses did tell police that Jo did not stop for a stop sign and flashing lights at the intersection.
