Latinos gather to support Dream Act bill

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - On the last day of the legislative session, Latinos in Allen County gathered to support the Dream Act bill.

It was introduced by Senator Lugar last month to give immigrant students, who were raised in the U.S., a path to American citizenship.

The bill would also allow states to offer in-state college tuition rates to alien students.

Proponents say the bill is critical for the academic advancement of these students which will provide for better jobs in the future.
