A Hudson, Indiana man who allegedly attacked his girlfriend was shot by the woman's teenage son Tuesday night.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, officers were called to a home at 3895 S 400 W, in Hudson, at around 10:00 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

During the investigation officers determined that 55-year-old Harry Burdine allegedly attacked his girlfriend who also shared the home with him.  During the alleged assault, the woman's 16-year-old son shot Burdine two times.

"[Burdine] physically attacked the female at the residence," said Indiana State Police Detective Kevin Smith. "He started choking her and eventually choked her to the floor."

Smith says despite the teen's two shots from a 22-caliber rifle, Burdine still had a hold of the teen's mom. That's why the teen hit Burdine in the head with the stock of the gun, which ended the attack.

Burdine was taken to Cameron Hospital and later transported to a Fort Wayne hospital.  Burdine's injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made in this case at this time.

The investigation is ongoing by the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police Department.
