GARRETT, Ind. (WANE) - What started with a car running over trash cans ended with a chase and crash that left a man facing charges and tending to serious injuries.
It started around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, when police got a call about a car driving through yards and running over trash cans near Union Chapel and Coldwater Roads.
The car stopped and let two people out right in front of a Fort Wayne police officer who was just on his way to work.
Those two were taken into custody, but the driver took off and lead police on a chase up Coldwater Road and eventually County Road 327.
Police used stop sticks near Garrett, but the driver sped up and continued on a dirt road.
The car eventually flipped and left the driver trapped inside.
Police say the driver was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
