Souder target of new attack ad

A new ad put out by the Environmental Defense Fund attacks Mark Souder's vote against the recently debated Cap and Trade energy bill.

The commercial talks about the increase in imported oil over the years Congressman Souder has been in office.  Then it states that he recently voted against an energy bill, quote, "just like the special interests told him to."

The House did pass that bill, which is now being debated in the Senate.

Souder says he voted against the bill, because, quote, "Hoosiers know that the Democrats cap and trade plan will cost us jobs and raise taxes. During the worst recession in a quarter century, cap and trade would seriously damage any hope of further recovery. “

The ad debutes on air Thursday.
