A solar racing team made a stop Tuesday morning at Johnny Appleseed Park in Fort Wayne. The team is made up of students from the University of Michigan.

The group will travel in its solar powered car throughout the state as it prepares for a big event in the fall. One of the participants said at the end of October the World Solar Challenge takes place. It is a race that goes 1800 miles through Australia.

To practice for that event, the team from Michigan is driving its solar car from Fort Wayne to Kokomo to Terre Haute. From there, it will reroute a trip back to Michigan.
