CELINA, Ohio (WANE) - Police in Celina, Ohio have arrested a man believed to have stolen items from a church on three different occasions. Some of the stolen items were thrown into a lake.
William L. McGhee, 18, of Celina was arrested last Friday after police got a tip from a pawn shop owner.
Police believe McGhee stole various items from St. John's Lutheran Church located on Main Street in Celina on October 22, 25 and 26.
A pawn shop owner became suspicious about some merchandise McGhee had sold him. The owner checked the origin of the merchandise and contacted police.
Some of the items taken from the church were not pawned, but instead thrown into Grand Lake. Members of the Celina Fire Department Dive Team recovered a 42 inch LCD television, two boom boxes, two laptop computers, a DVD player and a VHS machine.
Two other people may also face charges in connection with the thefts once police finish their investigation.
