Work begins at future Scotty's Brewhouse site

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Crews started tearing down an old restaurant to make way for a new business on Tuesday.

Workers demolished the old Richards Restaurant at the corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Getz Road in Fort Wayne.

Once everything is cleaned up, construction will start on a new sports bar called "Scotty's Brewhouse."

Scott Wise, President and CEO of Scotty's Brewhouse, expects the restaurant will most likely open by August or September of 2013.

Scotty's has several location across Indiana including:

• Muncie
• Bloomington
• West Lafayette
• Indianapolis Downtown
• Indianapolis North
• Indianapolis South
• Mishawaka

Scotty's features burgers, wraps, 30 draft beers, 30 types of bottled beers, and specialty cocktails. Wise said the restaurant will also carry six brewed beers from Scotty's Indianapolis brew pub, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company. Scotty's will sell carryout growlers of craft beer every day except Sunday.

According to Wise, Scotty's will begin accepting applications for the Fort Wayne location in June through their website. The restaurant will also be hiring four to six salaried management positions.
