FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne's Downtown Improvement District and the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring the annual Winterval festival on Saturday, January 26.
Different organizations around the Fort Wayne area are providing family friendly activities.
A free Citilink bus will travel along Main Street in a loop every ten minutes.
The Winterval schedule is as follows:
The Botanical Conservatory
- 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- $1 off admission
- There will be indoor snowmaking from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., a bagel bird feeder craft, cookies and hot chocolate. There will also be ice carving at 2 p.m.
Science Central
- 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Half off admission
- Make Glacial Gak (slime) or try some tasty liquid nitrogen ice cream
The Old Fort
- 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Free admission
- See what winter life on the frontier was like in the early 1700's with French military, civilians and local Native American. There will also be a bake sale.
