FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Thousands of visitors will soon be in Fort Wayne, for one of the largest conventions the city has ever had.
The Wing Ding is the annual convention for the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Organizers are expecting at least eight-thousand Gold Wing motorcycle enthusiasts. The convention will run from July 3 - 7 and is expected to pump about $4.5 to $5.5 million into the local economy.
The last time the Wing Ding Convention was in Fort Wayne was in 2002 and 2005. 13,000 people showed up in 2002.
According to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) website, its group is the world's largest single-marque social organization for owners and riders of Honda Gold Wing/Valkyrie motorcycles.
GWRRA is a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-political organization.
