WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Several fire departments battled a house fire in Whitley County early Friday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., Union Township firefighters responded to a home fully engulfed in flames in the 4000 block of Hartman Road, about two miles east of Columbia City.
Two additional departments were called to help fight the flames. It took firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control.
Crews were told about 15 minutes after they first arrived that no one was inside.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
