FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Almost 1,000 Fort Wayne area residents participated in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Sept. 22, which raised nearly $150,000.

The money raised from the walk will fund Alzheimer's care, support, and research programs.

Participants completed a one mile walk, and learned about Alzheimer's disease and how they can be involved in advocacy efforts. The event also included an emotional tribute to those who have experienced or are experiencing Alzheimer’s.

NewsChannel 15's very own Nicholas Ferreri was the emcee for the walk.
