FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Leo United Methodist Church gave people the chance to walk though Bethlehem December 1 and 2. It was a re-enactment of Bethlehem as it may have been at the birth of Jesus.
The journey started when guests entered the gates to the city and ended at the manger. The re-enactment is supposed to be an educational experience and a reminder to Christians why they celebrate Christmas.
It takes quite a bit of time to set up every year, but organizers say it's well worth it.
"It's really something to see. The kids eyes just get so big when they look in the eyes of baby Jesus. We've even had adults leave very moved, and that makes it worthwhile. All the work is worthwhile," said Denise Schwaberow of Leo United Methodist Church.
Admission to the event was free.
