Volunteers help Hurricane Earl victims

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Two American Red Cross volunteers left for Massachusetts Thursday morning to provide assistance to victims displaced by Hurricane Earl.

Ruth Ann Briggs and John Judd, both of Fort Wayne, are expecting to be gone two to three weeks and will be provide food service to people along the coast.

Hurricane Earl is approximately 500-miles wide and could affect people along the East Coast, from Georgia to Maine.

To assist victims of disasters with a financial contribution: visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text the word 'REDCROSS' to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Donations will appear on customers' monthly bills or be debited from a prepaid account balance. Message and data rates may apply. Contributions may also be sent to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.
