FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Voices of Unity Youth Choir celebrated its most recent performance at the World Choir Games, and honored everyone who helped get the Fort Wayne choir to the competition in Cincinnati.

The event took place at the Destiny Dome at the Cathedral of Praise.

The choir called the evening a victory celebration, and wanted to hold the event to honor everyone who helped with the choir's Defending the Gold campaign.

The celebration included singers, city leaders, and school officials acknowledging the choir's work during the summer.

The choir also honored every person and organization that gave a gift or volunteered.

Voices of Unity Youth Choir won two gold medals at the world's largest choral competition.  The medals came in the Popular Choral Music and Gospel categories.

Members of the choir received their gold medals from the world games, and performed for the family and friends in attendance.

The choir also announced it is preparing for the 2014 World Choir games.  Those will take place in Riga, Latvia.
