FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - As part of the city's Discover Fort Wayne initiative, two local students are sharing their adventures in Fort Wayne through video.

Damon Dominique and Khin Phyu are exploring the Summit City and creating short videos on the many events, activities, and attractions that the city has to offer.

Discover Fort Wayne's "My Video" project encourages residents to showcase the city by posting videos on YouTube.

“Damon and Khin are to be commended for their creativity and desire to share their pride in Fort Wayne,” Mayor Tom Henry said. “I’ve always believed that our young people have much to contribute to our community and have a fun, even edgy take on what makes Fort Wayne a great place to call home.”

So far, the duo has created videos on statues of local historical figures, the July 4th fireworks celebration, Riverfest, and several Three Rivers Festival events.

Anyone can post similar videos to YouTube with “My Fort Wayne” in the title. Send an e-mail to discoverfw@cityoffortwayne.org with the title and/or link.

“Fort Wayne really has a lot to offer and doesn’t get enough credit for things to do. It’s just a matter of getting out there and finding them,” said Dominique.

Damon and Khin, both 19, grew up in the Fort Wayne area. Damon attends college at Pace University , and Khin is a student at IPFW .

They will continue to produce video documentaries about the Summit City throughout the summer.
