FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Hundreds of motorcyclists will join forces to raise money for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship program the week of August 27.

The riders in the American Legion Legacy Run are wartime veterans and are planning to travel 750 miles to help make college education possible for children of soldiers who have fallen since the attacks on September 11, 2001

"They fall through the crack, they need some support, because they don't have both parents or sometimes they're left orphans. This is to provide them with an education. Make sure they get one if they want one," said Nick Beckman, Director of the American Legion Riders.

Beckman joined other supporters of the riders taking part in the American Legion Legacy Run on the Hilligas Rd. overpass overlooking I-69.

The Run will begin in Niagara Falls and travel through five states. The run will end at the 94th annual National American Legion Convention in Indianapolis.
