Unwanted Medication Disposal Day: Sept. 28

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Unwanted Medication Disposal Day will be Friday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Allen County TRIAD said flushing old pills down the toilet or throwing them into the trash can have serious consequences for drinking water and the environment.                                                                  

People are encouraged to bring their expired medication in their original bottles or packages to these Walgreen's locations for drop-off:

  • Bluffton Rd.at Lower Hun tington Rd.
  • State St. at Wells St.
  • Lincoln Highway Westat Brookwood (New Haven)
  • Chapel Ridge at 10170 Maysville Road
  • 1701 E. Paulding Roadat South Anthony Blvd.
  • Cook and Lima Roads
  • Dupont and Tonkel Roads
  • Scott Rd.(Chestnut Hills)
  • Limaand Carroll Rd.
  • Coldwater and E. Dupont Rd.
  • EastStateand Coliseum Blvd.
  • Stellhorn and Maplecrest Rd.
  • Clinton St.at St. Joe Center Rd.
  • W. Jefferson at Getz Rd.

For those unable to make the Walgreen’s collection dates, there are also ongoing collection sites at:

No liquids will be accepted.
