FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The United Way of Allen County was given a $1.1 million multi-year grant from the Robert Goldstine Foundation on Monday.
Volunteer Campaign Chair Jeff Miller said that the gift will serve as a match for new and increased leadership gifts of at least $1,000.
“This is a great example of the dedication of our community leaders to grow the resources at United Way. The gift from Goldstine Foundation will foster leadership giving, contribute to meeting our $5.4 million goal for this year’s campaign and establish a healthy trajectory for the resources United Way invests in our community," Jeff Miller, site executive at Raytheon and United Way’s 2012 Campaign Chair said.
Robert Goldstine was a realtor and land developer in Fort Wayne. He had a big role in saving the Embassy Theatre from demolition in the 1970's.
