FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A police report filed in August of 2011 may shed some light on what ultimately led to the firing of Bishop Luers football coach Matt Lindsay earlier this week.
In a statement Wednesday night , the Fort Wayne - South Bend Diocese said Lindsay was fired after video clips of students were discovered on his computer.
Allegations that Lindsay had been taking pictures or videos at a Fort Wayne pool was the subject of a report filed by a Fort Wayne police officer on August 7, 2011. The officer filed the report after responding to a complaint about a suspicious person spending time at Glenaqua Swim Club.

A man called police when his daughter stated that she saw a man, later identified as Matt Lindsay, possibly take a picture or video of her with a cell phone while sitting alone at the pool.
A source told NewsChannel 15's Drew Blair the name redacted in the report is Matt Lindsay.
The father told the officer that he approached Lindsay to ask about the claim. Lindsay was seen leaving the pool when the girl went to her dad and was found sitting in his vehicle.
According to the father, Lindsay “became very nervous and held out his phone as if to show him there were no photos… [his] hands were shaking rapidly and he pointed the phone at the dashboard and began deleting photos,” the police report stated.
The report said that a board member for the swim club introduced herself to the officer when he made the scene. The board member claimed that approximately ten parents had come to her in the past with allegations that Lindsay “put a camera in his bag and used it to take pictures of young boys and girls in the locker room,” the report continued.
Later that day, the police officer discussed the situation with Lindsay at Bishop Luers High School. The coach confirmed that he had been a member of Glenaqua for about seven years.
Lindsay explained that he left the pool that day when it began to rain. Lindsay denied taking pictures of anyone and told police that he offered to show his phone to the father who had approached him about the topic. According to Lindsay, the father did not want to look at his phone and Lindsay had taken pictures of his dashboard to prove that his camera was working.
Lindsay allowed the officer to look at his phone and the officer did not find any pictures of young children not related to him.
In addressing previous allegations made against him, Lindsay told police that he had been at the pool several weeks before and was using his camera to review football plays.
Lindsay was told the report would be on file. No criminal charges were filed related to the report.
NewsChannel 15 contacted the principal for Bishop Luers High School Tuesday to discuss the report and any relation it may or may not have to the coach’s termination. A message was left for Mary Keefer and has not been returned.
The school announced that Matt Lindsay's contract was terminated on Sunday for violating school and Diocesan rules.
