FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating after two men were hurt Thursday night in a shooting at Eden Green Apartments on Fort Wayne's southeast side.
Police were called to the 2100 block of Eden Street around 6:15 p.m. in response to a shooting inside a first-floor apartment. One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the other in fair condition.
Police said there were witnesses in the area of the shooting. Detectives have been interviewing those witnesses for information.
"They were in the same apartment," Jeremy Webb, an officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department, said. "We do know that. There was a witness in that apartment. We don't know if there's a relationship between the victims and the suspect. We don't know if he made entry. At this point, nothing can be confirmed."
Crime scene technicians were seen at the scene looking to retrieve any evidence.
"They're going to try to glean any evidence they can," said Webb. Any trace evidence, any DNA evidence, any fingerprints. Anything that is going to give the officers information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspect. Any shell casing that may be on scene."
Police said the only suspect description at this time is limited: an adult male wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
Police said they do not have a motive in the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information should contact Fort Wayne police or Crime Stoppers.
