Two escape Rudisill Ave. house fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Two people made it out of their Rudisill Avenue home safely, after it caught fire shortly before 5:00 Saturday evening.

According to Battalion Chief Jerome Gaines, when fire crews arrived at the home in the 700 block of East Rudisill they found a small fire in a bedroom on the second floor.

It took crews around 15 minutes to get the fire under control.  No one was hurt.

The home sustained moderate damage.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
