TOPEKA, Ind. (WANE) - A Topeka woman was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital in critical condition after a crash in LaGrange County Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 700 South and State Road 5 near Topeka.
According to Indiana State Police, an eastbound 1995 Pontiac driven by Robin M. Campbell, 52, of Topeka was stopped on County Road 700 South at the intersection with State Road 5.
Police said Campbell proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a southbound 2004 Suzuki driven by Stacy M. Flaugh, 40, of rural Wolcottville.
As a result, Campbell’s vehicle was struck broadside in the driver’s door and she was pinned inside. After extrication, she was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital with injuries to her head and chest.
Flaugh refused medical treatment.
The accident remains under investigation.
