FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- The Fort Wayne TinCaps ventured out to some new turf Thursday morning.

They were at the Arbor Glen Retirement Community for a game of beanbag baseball.

Officials said beanbag baseball is a wildly popular game among seniors.

Players stand 15-feet from a board and toss bean bags into holes for a 'single', 'double', 'triple', 'homerun' or 'foul'. The batters then move to chairs designated as bases.

"Usually they play against each other so any time that we have TinCaps or someone else come in, they always get really excited because they get to compete!," said Arbor Glen manager, Pamela Artman.

The residents won that competition with the TinCaps, and were invited that night to root on their competition as they faced the Lansing Lugnuts at Parkview Field.
