FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Over a hundred people in Fort Wayne gathered for a final pre-election rally to Stand Up for Religious Freedom on Saturday at the Allen County Courthouse.

The rally encouraged people to vote in the upcoming election for candidates who will protect Americans' freedoms and  respect the First Amendment.

Guest speakers included:

  • Representative Sue Ellspermann, Indiana House District 74
  • Sue Swayze, Legislative Director, Indiana Right to Life
  • Pat Miller, WOWO radio’s political analyst and vocal defender of religious freedom

The rally was inspired by one of the federal government's Health and Human Services mandate, which forced religious organizations and individuals to fund birth control and abortion despite their religious beliefs.
