ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana Department of Transportation said State Road 101 in Adams County is closed due to rising waters in the St. Mary's River, north of Pleasant Mills.
Adams County Sheriff Department dispatchers said State Road 101 was closed from the intersection with U.S. 33 and U.S. 224. It's not clear when the water will be gone for the road to reopen.
INDOT advises to turn around if you encounter a flooded roadway. Six inches of standing water is enough to cause passenger cars to stall and a foot of water will float many vehicles.
