FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Thursday is the 34th Great American Smokeout. It's a day health care workers encourage smokers to stop smoking.
IPFW will hold a Stop Smoking Block Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Kettler Hall. There will be free health screenings and information to help you quit. The event is free and open to the public.
Coinciding with the Great American Smokeout, Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne is going completely smoke-free.
Facilities have been that way for several years, but there have
been smoking huts and ash trays in parking lots and other areas.
Starting Thursday, they're no longer be available.
