Small house fire at Anthony Blvd. contained to the furnace heating system

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire at 12:17 p.m. on Friday.

Crews were on the scene at the 2500 block of N. Anthony Blvd. about a minute later. The fire was under control around 1:35 p.m.

The woman living in the house said she came home and found the house full of smoke.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke throughout the house

A small fire as found the basement near the furnace. The cause of the fire is not known but the fire was contained to the heating system.

The house was quickly ventilated it to remove the smoke. There were no injuries.

There was heavy smoke damage to the house and minor fire and water damage
