FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Senate President Pro Tempore David Long hosted a fraud prevention workshop at the Community Center on Main Street on Tuesday along with the Indiana Attorney General's Office.

From 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Community Center on W. Main St., residents had a opportunity to learn about the latest scams and what they could do to protect themselves.

"Statewide, scammers are developing new ways to take advantage of unsuspecting Hoosiers," Long said. "This workshop is an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about recent scams and get tips for protecting themselves against these frauds in the future."

Workshop topics included protecting personal and financial information, knowing techniques fraudsters might use, checking credit reports and freezing accounts in case of fraudulent activities.
