FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne held public tours of their new facility on November 17 and 18.
The 9,000-square-foot house features 11 guestrooms, a large kitchen, dining room, gathering room, computer center, laundry room, and a community room.
"The Ronald McDonald House inside Parkview is truly a gift to our community. The House was built by community donations and is supported every day by our friends and neighbors who drop their change into the canisters at our local McDonald's restaurants," Executive Director, Lisa Pacula said.
Pacula said it took only one year to raise the $2 million needed to build the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview.
"The community really stepped up to the plate to give gifts to make this house happen," Pacula said.
The new Ronald McDonald House will open on Tuesday, November 27.
