FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Regional Neighborhood Network Conference is being held at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne from September 27 to September 29.

The RNNC is a group of neighborhood representatives from across the Midwest. The conference will discuss crime prevention, neighborhood beautification, youth engagement, and neighborhood revitalization.

Event coordinator Cherise Dixie said the attendees will also partake in hands-on workshops and seminars, including a presentation by the Dayton and Peoria Police Departments. They will be discussing neighborhood safety tips and fighting violent crime in the community.

Dan Carmody, Executive Director of Detroit's Eastern Market, will highlight the event as the keynote speaker. Other featured speakers include Dr. Ruby Cain, Ball State University assistant professor, and former Burma soldier, Myo Myint.

It is estimated that the RNNC is bringing in roughly $100,000 to Fort Wayne.
