HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (WANE) - A record-holding hiker shared her stories from the trails with people in Huntertown Sunday.
Jennifer Pharr Davis was brought in by Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast as part of the school's INSPIRE Academy.
On Sunday Pharr Davis talked at the Tom and Jane Dustin Nature Preserve about life on the trail and her record-setting hike on the Appalachian Trail.
People can also hear her speak from 3-4:30 p.m. Monday in Ivy Tech's Coliseum campus auditorium located at 3800 N. Anthony Blvd. in Fort Wayne. This event is free and open to the public.
Ivy Tech provided the following information:
Pharr Davis has hiked over 11,000 miles of long distance trails across six continents. She currently holds endurance records on the Appalachian Trail, Long Trail and Bibbulmun Track. She is the first woman to be the overall record holder on the Appalachian Trail.
