Police: Man never found in Buckner Park

No further searches planned

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police began a search for a man who threatened to hurt himself around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Allen County Sheriff's Department, the man threatened to hurt himself and then ran into the woods by Buckner park at 6114 Bass Road. He did not threaten anyone else.

The Allen County Sheriff's Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Fort Wayne Police Department were on the scene attempting to locate the man for several hours. By 5:00 p.m., police had left the area, but police say they have not yet found the man.

On Thursday, the Allen County Sheriff's Department said the man was never located and no further searches were planned.
