FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Kinnaird Avenue.

Officials were called to the area around 4:15 a.m. for a reported shooting.

Officers found Nathaniel E. Myles, 42, of Fort Wayne, inside a home with an apparent gunshot wound.

Myles was in serious condition at the scene but was downgraded to critical while on the way to the hospital. He has since been upgraded back to serious condition.

Witnesses at the scene told police an adult male wearing a ski mask entered the home, shot the victim, then left quickly.

Another witness told officers they saw a man wearing a dark sweatshirt quickly leaving the area shortly after the shooting.

Police are now talking with witnesses to get more information about what happened.
