FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Pet lovers brought the furry members of their families into the Allen County SPCA Sunday to take pictures with Santa in order to help others animals living at the shelter.
The Allen County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals opened their shelter at 4914 S. Hanna St. in Fort Wayne Sunday from Noon until 4:00 p.m. to raise money to take care of the animals currently living at there by taking photos with Santa..
“It’s a way to help the animals that live here and help people start their holidays off,” said ACSPCA board member and volunteer, Terah Brogan.
Pet parents chose from various donation packages for the ACSPCA that ranged in price from $10 - $50. $10 got one 5x7 photo, $25 included all shots of their pet and Santa on a CD and for $50, owners received all shots of their pet on a CD plus holiday cards.
“Most people really love their animals, so it’s kind of neat to see a member of their family come in. They love it, they enjoy it and they love that they’re actually helping animals here as well as their own, said Brogan.
Another Picture Your Pet with Santa is scheduled for December 11 and 12 at Petsmart at 10260 Maysville Road in Fort Wayne.
