Two residents escape harm

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A pet was killed in a house fire Friday morning.
It started around 4 a.m. in the 600 block of Lawton Place, that's just east of Spy Run in Fort Wayne.
Officials say the fire began on the first floor and there's heavy smoke damage. Two people were home at the time, both got out safely.
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the blaze.
