FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - People took a trip back in time today at the Old Fort.

They were reenacting the time period of the French and Indian War.

There were British, Native and French forces there.

People could experience battles, visit merchants and tour the Old Fort.

"We need to remember who we are, where we came from and most importantly we need to make sure that the next generation understands who they are and where they came from so they don't repeat our mistakes," said Andi Hahn, a board member of Old Fort Wayne.

Organizers said it's a fun way for kids to learn about history.

They said kids had a lot of good questions for them over the weekend.
