FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A lot of people took advantage of the great weather Sunday by spending some time on the rivers.

The Three Rivers Festival's "River Games" event was Sunday. There were canoe and kayak races, water balloon wars, and a sprint race with a fire hose spraying water.

Organizers said they hope this event encourages people to get out and enjoy Fort Wayne's rivers.

"We want to show everybody that you can have a great time, have some fun and enjoy our wonderful asset," Shawna Nicelley, the River Games chair, said.

This is the second year the River Games have been a part of Three Rivers Festival
