FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Community Harvest Food Bank partnered with Summit Brands to collect food in their Top Off The Truck project.
People were filling up a truck Saturday at the Apple Glen Walmart. While the project is intended to collect food for those in need, partnering companies see benefits too.
"We feel as a corporate citizen it's important to us to give back to the community that we're in. So, we've reached out to several different organizations, and with that we try to get our name out there and let them know we're here, because we're a local company," Kevin Hart, the vice president of sales for Summit Brands, said.
Summit Brands is a Fort Wayne cleaning supply company. People who still want to make a food donation can throughout the weekend at donation boxes set up at area Walmarts.
